Information about, Guide, Tips to Reduce your K-electric Bill

The unbearable heat during summertime always results in increased usage of air conditioners and coolers, which of course then causes our electricity bills to skyrocket.

Since we rely so heavily on these machines to get us through the hot days and nights, we run them non-stop to achieve a sense of relief from the sticky temperature.

However, using ACs for prolonged periods can have a negative effect on our wallets. So, what can do for this? Don’t worry we will be discussing how to minimize or reducing our k electric electricity bills.

Ways to Effectively Reduce Electricity Bills

Cover your Roof

If your roof gets a lot of direct sunlight, you might have to run your air conditioner for a longer period of time to reach the temperature you want.

But did you know that painting your roof white or covers your roof can help reflect sunlight and reduce heat? That means you might not need an AC to keep your room cool. The air current will gradually lower the temperature inside your home.

Unplug your Devices which are not in Use

Did you know that one of the best ways to save on your electricity bill in summer is by unplugging devices that you’re not using? That’s right, not only should you switch off your TV, but you should also unplug it. This goes for any chargers, electronic devices, computers or appliances.

Even though this information is widely known, people still don’t practice it. One of the major reasons, besides laziness, is that people don’t save a lot by unplugging devices —merely around PKR 100 to PKR 500. But think of it this way: you’re paying extra money for something that you didn’t even use!

Analyze Devices that Consume more Energy

Electrical issues are often overlooked in homes, but they can be a big contributor to wasted energy. Hiring a qualified electrician to come inspect your home can help identify where energy is being wasted and how to fix the problem. This not only saves you money on your energy bills, but it also helps reduce your home’s carbon footprint.

Use Appliances Carefully During Off-Peak Hours

You can see a schedule of electricity rates on your bill. The table suggests time periods when the meter runs at a normal pace and when it runs faster. You can save money by operating heavy-duty machinery during the hours when the meter runs at a normal pace.

For example, you could run the washing machine, iron or vacuum cleaner during these hours. You can also save money by charging appliances during this period.

Choose your Air Conditioner Wisely

When purchasing an air conditioner, be sure to take into account the specific needs of your room. A common misconception is that a large AC unit will cool the room faster.

However, the right-sized AC for your room will provide both cooling and lower your electricity bill. In Pakistan, buildings are not typically insulated and summer weather can last for more than half the year.

As a result, choosing the right AC will have a significant impact on your electricity costs. Do extensive research on which brand and size is best for you before making any decisions. I think that AC Inverter is the best option for your home and your budget.

Do 1000 watts equal 1kw?

One kilowatt is equal to 1,000 watts – so to figure out how many kilowatts per day your refrigerator uses, you simply divide 7,200 by 1,000 (or the number of thousands that represents the number of kW or KW). This helps you arrive at your answer: 7.2 kWh per day.

On the other word Converting from 1,000 watts to kWh is easy! Multiply your watt-hours per day by 1,000. In this case that would divide the reading of 7,200 watt-hours by 1,000, which equals an output of 7.2 kWh per day.
